The heart behind it.
a note from mallory -
I am elated that I get to take your photos. that is what I pour so much of my effort into, and it has taken me time to grow to get into a space where I feel I can confidently capture your most precious moments.
When I think back on my childhood - I cant remember much.
It’s funny - I can remember parts … I know exactly what my old swing set used to look like, and the million different colors my mom painted it through the years. I can remember what the stuffed animal dog that I used to carry around looked like and how it lost one eye but i never gave it up. I can remember how my dads old green Nissan used to smell. I can see the shower curtain in my brother and I’s bathroom.
Call me crazy, but I think a lot of us are the same way. Bits and pieces.
and thats exactly why we whip out our phones to take a photo or video any chance we get. Because maybe, just maybe, our 20’s and 30’s and 40’s will fade away eventually too. And we will only remember bits and pieces of what really mattered. Life can be hard- and i BELIEVE that photos can remind us of the sweetness of everyday life. the sweetness in the mundane. Because the mundane are where the moments are at. They pass and are always fleeting. But photography freezes life… at least for a second. and thats what its all about. slowing down a little more. enjoying our time here, with these people, at this place.
So capture the memories. Grab the camera. Be the crazy friend always pausing everyone to take a video. Cause it’ll always, always be worth it. Make sure that you have a photo to remember the memory.
truly, my real honest answer. Thats exactly why I became a photographer.
Here are some of my pieces that have been captured through the years-
